Finished Coloring Job

Here's the finished Photoshopped colouring I did for my friend. The image took quite some time to finish because I wanted to do my best on it. The drawing is a human version of the My Little Pony character, Pinkie Pie

Currently...

I am still working on Photoshop stuff!

I am planning on posting the finished colored image soon, then going to post a few composites that I've done.

What I'm currently working on: I am going to merge two images together, then I will use filters and such to start creating a background for the video-game series "God of War". This will be the next big step to my own matte painting.

I have an image of Greenland and an image of New Zealand , both royalty free, that I'm going to use for this experiment. When it comes to my own painting, I will use my own images

Examples

Here are some examples of Photoshop work that I have done:

1. An edited photo of my mom. This image is comprised of three separate images

2. An image I colored within Photoshop. This is a character of my own creation

3. A sketch that my friend asked me to color. Outline done in Photoshop, currently still working on said image to finish up coloring.

4. A coloring page I painted within Photoshop. Beginning to experiment with different techniques.

5. My first attempt at a matte painting. The castle was an image I found on Google, but I merged it with a photograph of my friend Sarah. This was done within Photoshop.

A Little bit of 'Shooping

Hello there! Welcome to my blog!

Throughout the next few weeks or so, this blog will show my attempts at creating a matte painting! What's a matte painting? Well let's use one of my favorite examples:

Have you seen the latest Star Wars films? Or how about Lord of the Rings? Avatar maybe? Did it ever cross your mind as to how they got those spectacular and mind-blowing backgrounds? Those, my friends, are matte paintings. Originally created on canvas, they are the backgrounds that expand the original film or shot, allowing filmmakers to have those perfect trees, or the best sunset. Matte paintings also involve the work of miniatures, applying them to a much larger image or scene.

These days, matte paintings are most commonly created within the Adobe program Photoshop. And that is the program which I will use to show my skills and expand on them to create my very own matte painting.
